Meadowdale Raceway was built, from the first shovel turn to the first flag drop, entirely in spring and summer of 1958. Leonard W. Besinger, a successful contractor, visualized, organized and supervised the construction project. His experience and contacts in the building trades enabled him to complete the project in record time. Then his talents as a promoter took over. Everything about Meadowdale was the biggest, the best, the most spectacular. No one can ever accuse Leonard Besinger of doing anything is a small way, including his promotional efforts! |
