Village Sports Car Club Race, September 1961 Interesting story behind this race: North Suburban Sports Car Club requested a sanction for a race from Midwestern Council of SCC, but was turned down because they were still within the one-year probationary period of membership. Determined to present a race, the club reverted to its old name and ran an event anyway. Politics prevailed and the race was banned by just about everyone. It ran anyway, but with only 15-20 cars. Race officials had to keep every car on the track all day long to provide a show for the spectators! Click for program cover and entry list.
